Just a reminder OPEN TENNIS NIGHTS start this Tuesday at NHS courts 6-8PM. Number of attendees this first night is important as community members have complained about the SC teams reserving the courts. Please make an effort to attend! This is our HS facility and I am hoping this will give you an opportunity to use it! All HS players and friends are welcome to attend.
We will be working on doubles skills and strategy as well as conditioning and footwork. Cost to attend is $10/player. Please send an email to coach B if you plan to attend.
Open tennis nights(T-TH 6-8PM) will resume on June 22 and run thru July 22. Coaches will be on hand to run drills, set-up play and all equipment will be available for use. This will be guaranteed court time for all participants(you all know how hard it is to get a court in the evening at the NHS courts). Please take advantage of this opportunity. I have extended the offer to the boys' team as well. There is NO COST TO ATTEND! Message Posted 06/20/2010 16:51 Fitness Center Summer Hours
The Fitness Center will be available for use this summer for all incoming, certified 9th through 12th grade students and athletic teams. Any students who are not certified, which would include all incoming 9th grade students, will be required to take the Fitness Pre-certification Course being offered through community education starting on June 21st. Complete information about that course can be found here: Certification Course
All student participants are required to have a signed permission form handed in before they can participate. Permission forms can be found here: Permission Form
Any coaches who would like to schedule team training should contact me ASAP to discuss the details. Student-athletes on a team which does not have regularly scheduled team training sessions are welcome to join the Fitness Club.
I encourage all coaches who would like their athletes to participate at the fitness center this summer to get the word out to their prospects so that they have an opportunity to register for this certification course. Thanks for your time. Thanks, Patrick
I WILL NOT be scheduling team hours but you are welcome to use the fitness center on your own time.

Coach B Message Posted 05/25/2010 20:19 SC Tennis CampsHello Ladies,
Camp registration has started and all camps are filling quickly. If you would like your pick of camp dates, please send in your registration form soon. Camp sizes will be limited.
Also, many of you have expressed an interest in Camp 4 in August. That camp will be limited to 12 players(some spots are already filled), so in order to reserve your spot, send in a $50 deposit asap. The remaining $200 can be paid by July 25th. As you all know, participation in camp does not guarantee a spot on the team or increase your chance for varsity playing time. What it does do, is help to prepare you for the high school season. It has been great to see so many team players at the SHS courts after school!
Go State!

Jackie Gibbins: dgibbins@att.net Message Posted 03/07/2010 09:31 BOXTOPS For EducationPlease remember to save your BOXTOPS for Education. The team continues to collect them and currently we have about $60-$70 dollars worth! Hopefully by August we will be close to $200!! Remember, every little bit helps!
BOXTOPS can be found on numerous items that include:cereal, kleenex, toilet tissue, baking supplies, Juicy Juice, etc. Keep your eyes open! Each BOXTOP is worth 10 cents! I find it very easy to save them by having an envelope in the back of a kitchen cupboard. Then I just clip and save! This might be the EASIEST fundraiser a STATE HIGH team has ever done.
Saturday tennis is now over and Kelly DiMuccio gets the award for perfect attendance! Kelly will be awarded her NIKE tennis t-shirt in the Fall! Great leadership Kelly!
I hope all of you have enjoyed the snow! Let's hope spring is around the corner. Saturday morning doubles clinics(11AM-12) will start in the end of April! Watch for details in your e-mail and on the web site!
I hope you all are well.

The coaches at S.C.T.C Message Posted 01/26/2010 12:46 Booster Club/PSU Indoor TennisThe SC Girls Tennis Booster Club will be sponsoring indoor court time at PSU this winter starting 11-23-09. The following rules will apply:
1. The Booster club will pay $15 towards your hour of court time. There will be a pay sheet at the cash register that you must sign/initial every time you play. Players will pay the remaining balance immediately.
2. You must hit with another SC team member or a member of the boys' SC team to get this deal.
3. You CANNOT use the money towards an hour lesson or for ball machine use. Our team ball machine is available to use whenever you want it.
4. You can only play once a week with Booster Club money.
5. Any misuse by a player will result in that player being removed from this program.
6. Players are only eligible for this program if they were members of the team at the END of the 2009 season!
Helpful hints and other information:
1. JR. memberships are $129/YR and monthly rates are available. The cost of 1 hour of junior court time for members is $18.50/hour.
2. To get JR. court time, players must call 3 hours before the time they wish to play and you must be a member.
3. Regular court time for members is $37/hour(singles/ per player, $18.50, doubles/ per player $9.75). Subtract the $15 and the court time is affordable!
4. Regular court time for non-members is $56/hour and must be paid for by credit card in advance.
5. Monday, Friday and Sunday are the best days to call for JR court time.
6. Winter break is a great time to get JR. court time and it is usually wide open...All you have to do is call.
7. The phone number for the PSU Tennis center is 865-1381.
